how we do it
Producing light diesel oil (LDO) & Carbon Black from rubber crumbs involves a process known as pyrolysis, which thermally decomposes rubber in the absence of oxygen to yield various products, including LDO at Alterno Green Energy.
We take tyre recycling one step further. Using advanced continuous pyrolysis technology, we convert the rubber crumbs and chips into valuable end products like carbon black and pyrolysis oil, which can be further refined into light diesel oil. Our pyrolysis process involves the thermal cracking of these rubber materials in an oxygen-free environment, breaking down the materials at the molecular level and transforming them into high-quality carbon black, a crucial component in rubber manufacturing, plastics, and inks. Additionally, the process produces pyrolysis oil, an alternative energy source that reduces reliance on fossil fuels such as FO and LDO. By converting rubber waste into usable, high-demand products, Alterno Green closes the loop on waste, providing industries with sustainable alternatives to traditional resources.

Light Diesel Oil
Heating: The rubber crumbs are subjected to high temperatures, typically between 400°C and 500°C, in an oxygen-free environment. Decomposition: Under these conditions, the rubber decomposes into various compounds, including gases, oils, and solid residues.

varied applications

carbon black recovery
The solid residue left behind after pyrolysis is primarily composed of carbon black and ash. This residue undergoes a purification process to separate the carbon black from other impurities. The carbon black is then ground and processed to enhance its properties.
